Allied Medical has served New Zealand’s healthcare market since 1998, supplying mobility aids and rehabilitation devices to home-care providers, physiotherapists, pharmacies, and consumers. The business was built by father and daughter Ken and Katie Noble to deliver trustworthy assistive technology. Over two decades they grew steadily, but their Umbraco-based website proved hard to update, offered poor search, and required manual B2B account setup. Healthcare partners struggled to place orders, view past invoices, or reorder essential items.
Their legacy site was slow to update, nonresponsive on mobile, and search errors led to abandoned carts. Without stored invoice history or user-specific pricing, wholesale clients faced a clunky process. Password resets and shared logins frustrated customers and overloaded the support team. Internally, Allied Medical spent hours on manual workarounds to sync prices, update inventory, and help buyers place repeat orders.
In early 2024 Allied Medical chose Shopify Plus with B2B on Shopify and enlisted integration specialist CyberWorkshop. Over six months they migrated catalogs, launched customer-specific price lists, and set up volume discounts. The InSyncer for MYOB Exo app automated real-time price and stock updates, while Shopify’s Search & Discovery app fixed search typos and boosted findability. Multi-location inventory was configured across three warehouses, and custom user permissions let healthcare teams control ordering within their orgs.
Allied Medical is rolling out self-service tools for wholesale users and investing in SEO to boost organic discoverability. They’re also automating more workflows to free the team for strategy and growth initiatives. With Shopify Plus in place, they’re ready to scale without adding headcount.
