Selling sofas online can feel risky: customers want to sit, feel fabrics, test sizes. Snug tackled that directly by building virtual showrooms and live shopping events on social media. After switching to Shopify Plus in 2018, the team plugged in Gorgias for support chats and ConferWith for live video demos. These steps flipped skepticism into confidence and boosted every major metric.
Before migration, Snug relied on a custom platform that struggled under traffic spikes. Support requests piled up during peak season, and abandoned carts were common once viewers missed that in-person touch. The team needed a stable tech stack, faster checkout, and an interactive way to guide customers through large furniture investments.
Step one was migrating to Shopify Plus. That gave Snug a rock-solid core and unlocked Shopify Flow for automations. Next, they added a 3D-configurator app so buyers could spin and zoom each sofa module. Then the team used Gorgias for real-time chat, handling questions instantly. Live demo sessions went on Instagram and Facebook, hosted via ConferWith links embedded on product pages. Viewers clicked through products while experts answered sizing queries live.
Migrating freed up technical resources, so the team spent more time refining social commerce funnels. Snug now runs weekly livestreams that blend product demos with furniture tips. That approach turned passive browsers into engaged shoppers willing to invest in high-value items.
With the new stack solidly in place, Snug plans to test augmented reality previews inside customer homes. They’ll continue expanding live events, tapping community feedback to inform new designs. The key was combining a stable platform with interactive features—something any ecommerce brand can copy.
