In 2020, hospitality demand plunged, cutting off traditional clients for Italy’s finest linen weavers. Davide and Matteo recognized hotel-quality bedding shouldn’t be limited to industry pros. They founded Dalfilo in early 2021 to connect master artisans directly with end customers.
Rapid growth across digital and wholesale channels created a tangle of systems. They ran separate B2C and B2B websites, manual inventory checks, and disjointed customer data. This setup slowed the team, increased error risk, and threatened the premium experience that defined the brand.
Dalfilo selected Shopify Plus for its ability to unify storefronts and streamline operations. They built a dedicated B2B portal called Dalfilo Business, merged data flows with APIs to Oracle for real-time stock updates, and used native integrations for payments and CRM.
Tablets running Shopify POS brought the same online experience into their Milan flagship store opened in 2024. With Shopify Flow automations, routine tasks like order routing, tagging and alerts moved off their plates, while Shopify Scripts powered dynamic upsells at checkout.
Custom API connections to Oracle ensure accurate inventory across a 1,000-square-metre warehouse. Dynamic checkout logic boosts average order value. Klaviyo automations nurture repeat buyers with personalized emails.
A unified admin dashboard handles B2C orders, wholesale invoices, returns and promotions in one place—no more siloed spreadsheets or disconnected backends.
By 2024, Dalfilo served 110,000 customers in Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and the UK, collected over 10,000 reviews at an average 4.6/5 rating, and hit €9.1M in revenue—an over 1,000% increase in four years. New markets launched without any technical rebuild.
Automations cut manual work by half, enabling the team to refine products and enhance customer care. They’re now planning a fully integrated wholesale platform via Shopify Markets and targeting further retail expansions.
